ENTERING THE UNITED KINGDOM TO TRAIN WITH MC2 TRAINING

We offer training courses and learning programmes to individuals from other Countries who are interested in gaining an internationally recognised qualification.

This section of the website will provide you with the information and guidance you need to enter and stay in the UK for training.

As we deliver short course training programmes, it is unlikely that your stay in the UK will extend beyond six months. However, if you are to reside in the UK for a period of more than six months, and you are a non-EEA National, you will need to apply for a Tier 4 Student (General) Visa in your home Country before you travel to the UK.

Permission to come to the UK is called “Entry Clearance” and you can find information regarding this and other important guidance at the UK Border Agencies website – www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/studying.

Medical Assistance

If you require medical assistance during your stay, there are two main hospitals in the area. North Tees Hospital is located in Stockton-on-Tees and James Cook University Hospital is in neighbouring Middlesbrough, which is only five miles away.

If you require emergency medical assistance use a telephone to dial 999 and ask for an ambulance. Do not dial 999 in non-emergency situations but seek the advice of a Doctor at a medical practice.

Healthcare costs

This section is only relevant to individuals who want to reside in the UK for a period of more than six months.

International students registered on a course of more than six months and all students from the EU are entitled to free medical care under the National Health Service (NHS). To use this service, you should register with a local medical practice as soon as possible on arriving in the UK.

You will need to pay for any medicine prescribed by a Doctor. You will also need to pay for eye examinations, spectacles if they are required and dental treatment.

Local Pharmacies

If a Doctor decides that you require medicine, you will be given a prescription, which you will need to take to a Pharmacy, in order to obtain your medicine.

If you are looking for non-prescription medications, you can also purchase these from a local pharmacy.

A list of local Pharmacies can be obtained from the NHS website:
